Our intellect is designed to be a gatekeeper – to weed things out for us. It is NOT designed to run our lives. When we allow it to do this, it can become a tyrant, overprotective, afraid that its interests are not being properly served. When we live too much “in our head” and mindlessly rely on lifetime-rehearsed and internalized maps of meaning, we suffer the inevitable result of perceiving attack at every turn, and experiencing anxiety. This false identification with our intellect is challenged, however, every so often, by our inner voice. Sometimes this takes the form of a feeling or intuition, and like a fresh breeze on a beautiful summer day fingering our hair and pressing gently against our body, when experienced, it briefly stops the chattering mind, bringing our attention back to centre of the mighty present moment and away from the intellect’s programming. Listening to our inner voice, and our inherent wisdom is important. We all have access to it. When this happens, don’t be shy to stop, stand still in your magnificence, and listen. Your inner voice signals that something important is at stake that deserve recognition and requires your full attention. When we follow our inner-voice and we allow it to surface, purpose and living align together with our higher self and clarity of being manifests. Suddenly you may find a creative solution to a problem you have been thinking for a long time, or you may suddenly know what to do in a situation that left you confused. Don’t live the results of other people’s restricted and limited thinking of who you are and what you should do. You have an inner voice. Put up the volume! And have the courage to follow where it leads you. Stop trying to control everything in your mind, to work out all the details. It is exhausting and such a waste of time. Your time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life and purpose. Live by your inner voice’s guidance and inspiration, align your purpose with your higher self’s direction and trust that process.
